About the competition: In 2024, the Raymore Arts Commission will present its first art competition, Power of Perspectives. This contest invites artists to explore their unique points of view through a variety of media. The spirit of this event is to bring artists and people together as a community while respecting the individuality and perspective that each person brings to the table. Perspective is a valuable tool in the world of art. It can mean the physical perspective in a painting by looking down a long winding road that shrinks in the distance or it can refer to the unique lens that an artist possesses to create a piece of art. The power of perspectives can be unassuming, but when people come together with respect and admiration for each other’s differences, its power is endless. Perspective has the power to change the world around us, so express your artistic point of view and help to unify the community around you by joining this collaborative show.
Raymore Arts Commission
Since its creation in 2015, the Raymore Arts Commission has strived to bring artistic opportunities in a variety of ways to citizens of Raymore. The commission oversees concerts at the amphitheater at Hawk Ridge Park, a rotating display of public art around the city and the gallery inside City Council Chambers. Power of Perspectives is one of the newest events that the Raymore Arts Commission has introduced and is poised to prompt unity in the community through art.
Entry The artist entry deadline was 5 p.m., April 5, 2024.
