The Raymore Police Department is pleased to announce a new service available to citizens who are involved in a minor motor vehicle accident on private property. Effective on August 1st, 2013, citizens may begin using the Raymore Police Department’s private property accident form. This form is to be used if a collision occurs on private property, such as a parking lot, and results in no injury, minimal damage, does not involve alcohol or a hit and run and the involved parties are civil. If these conditions exist, drivers are encouraged to exchange the following information to enable their insurance companies to file a claim:
- Driver’s name, address, and phone number;
- Names of all occupants;
- Vehicle make, model, license number and vehicle identification number;
- Insurance company and policy number.
The exchange of information between involved drivers is required by law, but police reporting of non-injury accidents on private property is not mandated in the State of Missouri.
This form is designed to assist motorists in obtaining the necessary information to provide to their insurance companies. It is the responsibility of the involved parties to retain a copy of the form as it will not be kept on file at the Raymore Police Department.
Please do not hesitate to contact the Raymore Police Department at 816-331-0530 if you need clarification on the form or your private property accident involves one of the listed conditions.
