Starting rate for Police Officer  $23.73/hr

Schedule   12 hour shifts: 7 a.m.-7 p.m., 2 p.m.-2 a.m., 7 p.m.-7 a.m.

Three days off every other weekend

Holidays 11 paid holidays per year + 1 floating personal holiday & 1 additional personal holiday if given a positive annual review

Vacation

• 1-4 years- 80 hours

Raymore Police Officers are exposed to training throughout their careers in multiple areas, including significant training in de-escalation techniques, crisis intervention, racial profiling and diversity and inclusion.

NO CHOKEHOLDS

Raymore police officers do not use chokeholds or lateral vascular neck restraint (LVNR).

DE-ESCALATION

Raymore police officers train significantly on de-escalation techniques and crisis intervention throughout their careers in Raymore. Chapter 41: Crisis Intervention

NO SHOOTING AT MOVING VEHICLES

Raymore officers are prohibited from shooting at moving or fleeing vehicles. Chapter 24: Response to Resistance, Section 24.07- Discharging Firearms at Moving Vehicles

RESPONSE TO RESISTANCE

Raymore officers are only allowed to use a level of force reasonable and necessary to accomplish their lawful objectives. We are always looking for cooperation from the public in any situation and do not condone excessive use of force. Chapter 24: Response to Resistance

COMPREHENSIVE REPORTING

Raymore officers complete a detailed report any time force is used. The report is forwarded through the chain of command to the chief of police for review and determination whether the amount of force was warranted and appropriate. Chapter 24: Response to Resistance, Section 24.25- Response to Resistance Reports 

DUTY TO INTERVENE

Members of the Raymore Police Department are required to intervene and report inappropriate behavior of another member of the department disregarding the important principles of the rules of conduct and performance of duties. Chapter 7: Rules of Conduct

REQUIRE TO EXHAUST ALL ALTERNATIVES BEFORE SHOOTING

Raymore officers are only authorized to discharge their firearms to protect themselves or another person from imminent death or serious bodily injury, or to kill a dangerous animal or an animal so badly injured that humanity requires its removal from suffering. Officers will not fire their weapons under conditions that would risk bystanders or hostages to injury or death except to preserve life or prevent serious bodily injury. Chapter 24: Response to Resistance, Section 24.06- Discharge of Firearms
