2024 Trails Improvement Project

The Park Trail Replacement Project is in progress!

The first phase includes:

  • reconstruction of our most used trail in the park system, the loop trail at Recreation Park, with drainage and stormwater improvements

  • redesign and replacement of the Arboretum Trail at Memorial Park

The new concrete trails will be 10 feet wide and this reconstruction will bring them up to industry standards. Concrete is also very long lasting and should last 25+ years with proper maintenance.

The entirety of the trail replacement project is anticipated to last about three months.

Late summer 2024, the second phase will begin and includes trail removal and replacement in targeted areas of Raymore's linear park system. Stormwater areas along the Good Parkway Linear Trail will be redesigned and constructed to handle flooding and manage stormwater. The bridges at the arboretum are currently under design and will be replaced in this final phase of the project.

The City issued Special Obligation Bonds to finance the $3.5 million Trail Replacement Project. The bonds will be paid over a 15-year period through the City’s Parks/Stormwater Sales Tax and Capital Improvement Sales Tax funds.
