What is a Geographic Information System (GIS)

A Geographic Information System (GIS) is a technology framework used to manage and analyze data with respect for a real world location. Visualizations are data driven products provided for quick access to civic information. The following is an example of an interactive web mapping application;

Map Documents

Cartographic maps are saved to portable document format (PDF) on nominal sheets for publication.  Paper (full color) map copies are available at City Hall for $2 SF by request.

The GIS Division of Development Services administers components of the platform for departments and is situated to provide access to geospatial data, supporting information, functionality & output by request
