Community For All Ages Gold Level RecipientCommunity for All Ages Master Plan

The city's Community for All Ages Master Plan was approved by the Planning and Zoning Commission on March 21, 2017.  The plan includes a number of goals and strategies which will help keep us moving forward in building a community that is friendly and safe for all.

Adopted Master Plan

In the spring of 2017, the City of Raymore achieved Gold Level recognition as a Community for All Ages. The award recognizes the steps our City has taken to become more age friendly through our planning and community development efforts.

What makes our city age friendly?

This program recognizes the efforts of communities like Raymore that have taken steps to become more welcoming to residents of all ages and, in the process, more vibrant, healthy and prosperous. The Community for All Ages program ensures that decisions that are made within the City consider the impacts to all residents, and make Raymore a great place to live and call home, regardless of age or ability. The City's participation in this program has helped influence projects and iniatives including:

  • Promoting concepts of universal design in residential construction
  • Expanding housing options by permitting accessory dwelling units (ADUs) in residential districts
  • Establishing wider sidewalks and well maintained sidewalks and trails
  • Building inclusive recreation opportunities in the City
