Assistant City Engineer – Lead, Innovate, and Build a Better Tomorrow!

The City of Raymore, Missouri is looking for a highly skilled and motivated Assistant City Engineer to direct and manage all professional engineering efforts related to the planning, design, and maintenance of our city infrastructure and utilities. Key Responsibilities:

Oversee and manage the City's Capital Improvement Plan (CIP), from project prioritization to construction.
Supervise and evaluate assigned staff, ensuring seamless coordination of daily work activities, technical assistance, and quality control.
Review and approve development plans, ensuring compliance with city ordinances and construction standards.
Research, plan, and coordinate engineering projects, managing everything from design to budgets and schedules.
Serve as the city’s representative in meetings with developers, consultants, and other agencies, providing expert insight into public works and infrastructure projects.
Provide technical assistance to the public, contractors, and developers regarding Stormwater management, ordinances, and other engineering concerns.
Prepare reports, budgets, evaluations, and engineering documents while staying up-to-date on regulations and industry trends.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Science Management or a related field.
3+ years of progressively responsible experience in civil engineering or construction management.
Proficiency in managing data, people, equipment, and budgets.
Strong leadership and problem-solving skills, with the ability to function in both technical and managerial capacities.
