Question P Open House

Learn about a local use tax

Raymore residents will see Question P, a local use tax, on the April 2 ballot.

A local use tax is equal to the City of Raymore's sales tax (2.5%) on the purchase of good strictly from out of state vendors - often online - that currently do not collect Raymore sales tax.

Revenue from a local use tax will be used to add more Police, Public Works Maintenance Workers and Parks Maintenance Workers to our workforce and will provide funds for yearly maintenance of Raymore's stretch of 58 Highway. 291 other Missouri cities have a voter-approved use tax in place to fund essential city services.
